Dr. Kumta has over 50 years’ experience in industry predominantly in the area of banking, Information Technology and Education. 

Her experience covers assignment in IT consulting and Management Information Systems in banks. She has a diploma in Bank Management from NIBM. At CMC Ltd. she handled projects covering analysis, design, development and implementation of software systems in various areas in banks and provided system consultancy for NAFSCOB. As an Educationist she was Head of the Information Systems faculty at SVKM’s NMIMS (Deemed University) Mumbai, has experience in teaching and research in the area of Information Systems and Knowledge Management. She was Member of the Board of Management, Academic Council and a Member of the Board of Studies for various streams at NMIMS. She has co-authored, with Dr. Klaus North, a book on Knowledge Management published by Springer and actively participates in conferences on Knowledge Management, Enterprise Solutions and E-Governance.
