He is an experienced banker with more than 38 years in the field of development banking. He joined IDBI before being deputed to SIDBI. He headed important branches in SIDBI and specialised in the development of the MSME sector, gaining expertise in project financing and NPA management. He also headed the Treasury, HR and Internal Audit functions at SIDBI. He was deputed to London Business School, London and IIM, Ahmedabad for Executive Development Programs. He retired from SIDBI as General Manager.
